“A Park with Wellness at its Heart”

1 in 5 Canadian children will experience a diagnosable psychiatric concern in their youth. Research has proven there’s a direct link between nature and positive mental health which is why we are so excited to be partnering with the Brawn Family Foundation, Rotary, The City of Calgary, Alberta Health Services and the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation to develop a park at the new Center for Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CCAMH) in 2022. The center is located in the community of Hounsfield Heights/ Briar Hill, where we have officially broken ground.

Park construction began earlier this summer with site grading and installation of numerous park features including a bouldering wall, meditation labyrinth, concrete pathway, seating, and picnic tables, as well as tree planting. Despite delays caused by supply chain issues, excellent progress has been made this year.

They say great things take time, and at Parks Foundation our priority is to create a high-quality, one-of-a-kind park space that will be enjoyed by children, youth, families, and Calgary citizens for decades to come.
